Scorpio Full Moon: Emotional Truths

Feelings are much stronger

than thoughts.

We are all led by instinct,

and our intellect

catches up later.

A white goose curled up, sot and relaxed. Taurus new Moon

The Full Moon on May 12, 2025, at 22° Scorpio

illuminates what has been resting just beyond our awareness and can no longer be ignored. We have access to our emotional depth and the intensity of the desires, needs and feelings that are often secreted away deep within. By facing some deep truth, we will feel compelled to make a change. It is likely something we have been contemplating but have been resistant or hesitant about acting on until now.

Full Moons occur at the peak of each lunar cycle when something reaches a culmination point. The days leading up to the Full Moon bring increased momentum, activity and often mounting pressure. At the Full Moon, emotions and tides run high. Something comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough and can lead to resolution. During the two weeks following the Full Moon, we are completing the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.

The River of Feeling and Change

Uranus conjunct the Sun and oppose the Moon

Uranus in Taurus (March 15, 2018 – July 17, 2025 / November 8, 2025 – April 26, 2026) has reflected a time when what was stable has been disrupted. Areas of our life that have become stale or rigid have been shaken up. Unexpected events have introduced new growth, innovation and freedom.

Uranus conjunct the Sun in Taurus won’t happen again for another 84 years. Taurus values peace, but we may be feeling anything but peace. We are restless, unable to find comfort in the life we worked hard to establish. Something surprising fast-moving dynamic may carry us out of our comfort zone. Revelations concerning potentials and choices may catapult us into taking action. We desire stability, but we may feel it is time to dislodge or disrupt something that we thought we had secured and screwed into place. Wanting to grow and develop ourself, we may elect to uproot what we have built. Over the next week, we may feel compelled to break up a routine, act out, exercise our innovative spirit, or assert our independence. The changes we make may be a surprise to others, but in all likelihood we have been mulling them over for some months now, waiting for the time we would act on that feeling that has been living deep within.

Uranus oppose the Scorpio Moon intensifies feelings and passions and can shine a light on long held secrets and things hidden away. Our inward gaze can penetrate beneath the surface of an issue to get at the source of what is happening. "There is an enormous depth of feeling as we tune into the 'rio abajo del rio,' the river beneath the river, to see clearly what is beneath the heart of the matter" wrote Mystic Mamma about the Scorpio Full Moon.

A rebellious, creative or revolutionary spirit is aroused as we are honest with ourselves and listen to how our feelings are guiding us. Issues dealing with patterns that center around appetite, finances or sexuality (areas ruled by Taurus and Scorpio) may be especially illuminated. We may be ready to address a habit that robs us of vitality or personal power.

Let Enthusiasm Guide Us

Full Moon CoRuler: Mars trine Venus

Venus and Mars, both in fire signs are in a harmonious relationship the rest of May. The feminine and masculine within us are aligned in stirring an enthusiasm and passion for something. We are to take notice of what lights us up and feed it. Follow and give time to what inspires enthusiasm for life. Let ourselves be courageous about what brings us joy.

Entertain New Thought

Full Moon CoRuler: Pluto square Mercury

Our mind is challenged to reach for the deep truth, to see beneath and beyond what we already know. Our thoughts may be churning round and round in our head and may can find ourselves on mental overdrive as we seek clarity. Entrenched thought patterns can break down to make room for a new truth we can now perceive. Rather than endlessly weighing the pros and cons, or spending extensive time going over the same data, we can let our mind be curious and absorbed in our feeling nature. The feelings we have in response to a given subject will help lead us to a deeper and broader understanding.

Choice Point

Jupiter square the Nodal Axis and Saturn

The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn (December Solstice 2020) seeded a new collective direction for the next 20 years. We are at the first crisis point in the journey to manifesting the promise of the conjunction. The health of the seed potential that was planted in 2020 is being tested. We are challenged to discern what we are ready to stabilize versus what needs adjusting versus the new potential it is time to invest our energy in now (Jupiter/Saturn square mid-August 2024 to mid-June 2025).

Jupiter square the Nodal Axis.

In Gemini, Jupiter may offer us choices. With Gemini, things come in twos. We chose between two things, or we need to make two choices. Our mind may be anxious, unable to rest as it weights the options before us. We may struggle to discern what we need about the information and the variables because we can see and appreciate both sides of an issue. There is a choice to be made but we stand at the crossroads unsure which road to take. We are encouraged to take he road that is less traveled, less comfortable, but holds greater promise.

As we examine the viability of the options before us, we pursue concrete facts to help minimize risk and ensure a successful outcome with the decisions we are making (Saturn conjunct the North Node). There can be self doubt as we wonder if our plan, our dream is realizable or just fantasy. We are ready to move towards a new evolutionary phase in our lives (N. Node) and are willing to upend what we have been building in order to incorporate the vision of what we want to see take shape. There is a seriousness, a weightedness, even a fatigue as we weigh options (Saturn) and let go of ways we have been living so we have the space to welcome something new into our lives.

The rational mind has limitations. It can offer the information and facts, the variables and viability, but there is another element needed now to help us connect the dots. It is not about quieting our feelings so we can be even more level-headed, objective and rational. We need to include and trust the feelings that guide us.

Listen, New Horizons Open for Us

Moon at Apex of Yod with Jupiter and Chiron. Known as the Finger of God configuration, the finger of the Yod points to the Scorpio Moon. Ways in which we were never nurtured or ways we have unsuccessfully nurtured ourself surface. Feelings related to this are amplified and intensified. There are personal needs that need to be honored and it is through our feelings that we can best connect with them. One of the choices we can make at this time is to uplevel the ways we nurture and care for ourselves. This includes looking at ways we can strengthen the connection to our feeling nature.

Chiron at apex of Yod with the Moon and S. Node. With Chiron in Aries, we have been going through a process to restore or strengthen self-confidence and trust in ourselves. In the choices and decisions we make now, we are be suspect of the ‘safe’ choice that carries into familiar territory (S. Node). What is may feel more familiar, it may lead us to feeling more limitation and less room to grow or develop. We are invited to release the need to be in control or have it all figured out (S. Node in Virgo). Instead, we are to trust that our feelings are connected to something larger than ourselves, a universal force or divine impulse, that is guiding us to a larger sense of ourselves and of life (N. Node in Pisces) and that we have the strength and fortitude to reach for it.

We are Supported

Mystic Rectangle in Earth and Water signs

Planets in trine or sextile: Sun and Moon, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and the Nodes.

Two oppositions: the Full Moon and the Nodal Axis.

We are supported, dare I say divinely supported, in this transitionary period where the old way of living is falling away and we are being carried towards an unknown, yet promising future. What to us may seem chaotic or arbitrary, may in actuality have design. There is a sublime beauty to the Mystic Rectangle; it displays great tension that is encased and contained by grace and blessing. The great tension seeks resolution. The tension may feel insurmountable, but there are gifts and resources available to bring about a transformative change.

The Sun, Uranus, Moon, and North Node are working harmoniously together to close out ways of collective living that have fulfilled their purpose or are no longer a match for the evolutionary impulse of humanity. We are supported in letting go what is already leaving us. We may struggle to articulate what we are sensing about what is happening(Pisces). In part, we will find our way through this transition by learning to trust the flow of life and letting go of our need to define or control the particulars (Virgo S. Node).  The Taurus season is marked by a desire for peace and stability. Yet, there is a paradox in this year's Taurus season as we feel the wisdom to initiate changes that upset the peace, if temporarily so that we can open to a new chapter, a new promise in our lives.
