There can be no transforming
of darkness into light and
of apathy into movement
without emotion.

The Full Moon on May 1, 2026, at 11° Scorpio
illuminates emotional patterns that slow us down or hold us back from embracing change and new life. Intense feelings may be stirred in response to what is revealed. Something has been building beneath the surface involving issues of control, power, or trust. Facing emotional truths around what is keeping us small, we can release what no longer fits and choose the version of ourselves that will carry our life forward.

Full Moons mark the peak of the lunar cycle. There is a momentum and pressure that comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough which can lead to resolution. The two weeks following a Full Moon, we complete the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.
Where 11° Scorpio resides in our natal chart indicates the area of life where we are to be honest about what is not working and trust ourselves to know what we are to shift to feel more empowered and true to our potential.

Unless we have that moment
of chaos, followed by
the emotional release
of realization, nothing
will be remembered.

Personal Anecdote: My Experience with the Full Moon
I had a heck of a time writing this Full Moon post and even toyed with the idea of just skipping it all together. I appealed to AI to help me organize and shape it, but this ended up adding more complexity and confusion. Intuitively moving with the energetics of the Full Moon, I found my way through by allowing my feelings to guide me.
My process was challenging in part because there are numerous and complex astrological configurations happening - many with overlapping meanings. My usual pattern is to explain each of astrological configuration. This would have resulted in a newsletter too long for anyone to read.
As I shifted the way I was approaching it, out of necessity, I realized there was something else at play: I was entangled in the Full Moon energy, in the complexity and intensity I was seeking to describe. Taking a cue from the Taurus Sun, I looked to ground myself and reduce the energetics into simple components. And feeling the push from Pluto's square to the Full Moon, I let go of the habitual pattern of how I organize and shape a newsletter and looked for a new approach to create it.
The Jupiter trine Moon had me feel encouraged to trust what I was feeling and what I wanted to do. So, I separated the newsletter into four sections. Give it read. I welcome your feedback about what you liked about the changes, or even what you didn't.
Summary of Planetary Movements
A stellium of Aries planets is the engine behind the Full Moon's potency, providing the momentum that is driving us towards embracing the new paradigm and dream catalyzed by the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries mid-February. This momentum moving through us has met a point of resistance that thwarts or undermines the movement towards the new life. The Scorpio Full Moon compels us to assess what is holding us back emotionally. Pluto squaring the Full Moon reveals truths or secrets that compel us to make changes to release what burdens us or holds us back.
The Scorpio Moon operates as a pressure point begging for release.
1. Pluto square the Moon pressures us to see what has been hidden and guides us to release what keeps us small.
2. The Moon is further stressed at the apex of Yod with Saturn and Venus, pressuring us to revamp something based on an emotional truth, rather than a logical solution. Something in our emotional patterning is no longer structurally viable. We can look at discrepancies between boundaries we created, how we handle emotional intensity and patterns in our relationships to see what key shift is ready to take place.
The Scorpio Moon is supported by a trine to Jupiter in Cancer and the North Node in Pisces which helps us to trust ourselves to see what is true and know what we need.
The Sun in Taurus, opposing the Scorpio Moon, is the counterbalance. Amid the intensity, we can ground ourselves and reduce the mountain into a molehill by letting simple but potent truths be gleaned from what we are feeling. These two planets rule finance; there may be changes we are to make with expenses, debts or investments in response to truths we now face.
Mercury conjuncts Chiron, the Healer and Eris, The Rebel helps us to reframes the narrative of ourl life. We can see ourselves from a healed perspective and discard old story lines. We are empowered to redefine ourselves and participate in the shaping of our future.
The personal invitation of this lunation is happening inside a larger cultural and technological paradigm shift that is well underway. Big initiatives are budding. Old structures continue to give way. This shift is powerfully supported by an astrological configuration that is occurring for the first time in recorded human history: A Small Grand Trine between the three generational, transformational planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto which will be exact in July. Uranus entering Gemini on April 25 has turbo boosted the transformative, innovative energies that will continue to emerge throughout 2026.
This powerful harmonious alignment between these three planetary giants tells us that universal truths are streaming into human consciousness that will spark innovative, creative, spiritual revelations. We have the capacity to awaken to new levels of understanding that can result in inspired solutions and leadership and the evolution of human consciousness. We have only to believe in its possibility and not be caught in fear, or in emotionally holding onto something that has already gone.

Genius is the ability
to renew one's emotions
in daily experience.
Paul Cezanne
What does this Mean?
Our experience of what it means to be human is changing. As the world around us changes, so will we. Changes are occurring on multiple fronts and can seem to be coming from all sides. Some of us have sought to distance ourselves from it by rationalizing or denying that these changes won't touch our lives. And now, we may be having an intense response to something happening and how it may affect and shape our lives in the months and years ahead.
Outdated structure and systems are crumbling. The new life is pushing through and is breaking down whatever stands in its way. On the surface it looks like destruction. We are asked to trust the movement, trust ourselves and to release what may be familiar, habitual but doesn’t serve who we are becoming or where we are going.
We can feel how our personal lives are woven into the big shifts and beginnings for humanity. We are to recognize what is underlying the story we tell about ourselves and what we present to the world. Through our emotions, we discover truths about what motivates us. Facing our fears and concerns, we can shift a sense of powerlessness and discover ways to release attachments and storylines we have outgrown.
To move with the river of change, we are to lighten our load and free ourselves up, so that we become more flexible, able to adapt, and can shift and pivot to accommodate change. Strong emotions may be stirred in relation to issues of our security, comfort and routines we have relied on. There is a cracking open in areas where we are stuck. Areas where we hold resentment and are no longer part of our life have become emotional baggage we are to release. Relationship dynamics or activities that involve power struggles or controlling behavior may intensify to bring our attention to a shift we need to make.
The power struggle may be within ourselves. There may be a fear around letting go of something we have become identified with for. If we let go of it, we wonder about who we will become. It is time to get out of our own way, release what we are holding too tightly to, and let the current take us towards a new way of seeing ourselves and life.
The Full Moon is unfolding against a backdrop of rapid collective change that is technological, relational, structural and spiritual. The emotional work we are doing now is not separate from that larger shift. It is preparing us to participate in a world that is rewiring and reorganizing itself from the inside out, and perhaps also from the outside in. The more we release what’s outdated internally, the more clearly we can navigate what’s emerging externally.

Perhaps the most important
reason for self-disclosure
is that without it
we cannot truly love.

Questions to Ponder
How am I feeling about my life? About the future?
Where do I have fear or deep concern?
Instead of asking, “How do I fix this?” or “How do I move past this?” Try asking: “What is this feeling asking me to face.
Is there a habitual pattern or something I have identified that is not aligned with the new life ready to emerge?
Before asking “What should I do next?” ask “Which version of me is making this decision?”
If I make decision from the new story I am telling about myself, and not one that reinforces old pattern of fear or protection, what would that look like?
What burdens me, and what of it can I release to lighten my load?
What one thing can I do to feel lighter within myself?
