We weren’t made for answers.
We were made to be unraveled
by the questions that turn us inside out
until we recognize the truth
written in our bones.
Sean DeLaney

The New Moon on March 18, 2026 at 28° Pisces arrives like a spring rain. It washes away the residue as it waters the seed potentials that bring new growth into our life.
We are to come current, to release and not dwell on what is falling away, and instead align ourself with what is ready to emerge. What was true for us yesterday may not be true for us today. What was true for us as a collective a year ago may not be true today.
Feelings and intuition rather than intellect will guide us in the process of discernment and understanding. Emotional releases may accompany the completion and letting go of something.
Pisces reminds us that life is a dream. In the context of the big changes still coming in 2026, the New Moon brings attention to how reality is shifting and with it our dreams for life. What we dream now will help shape what reality will look like in the months to come.
Something we have struggled to let go of, we can find it easier to shake loose from now. (Uranus sextile the New Moon). This, then frees up creative energy and brings movement into areas of life that have been sluggish or stagnant.

The house in our natal chart where 28 Pisces resides lights up the area of life where we are seeding a new dream and getting current on what is true for us now.
The New Moon is the optimal time each month to set an intention for what we want to see manifest over the next four weeks of the lunar cycle that is beginning. We are to plant this seed intention in the 24-hour window after the exact moment of the New Moon, when the Moon is still dark and not yet visible again in the night sky.

when i was younger,
i used to play ‘let’s say’…
all the time. like this:
let’s say i can live underwater.
let’s say i can smell colors
with my skin.
as i went on that changed.
let’s say i can do work
i don’t hate. let’s say
i can fall in love & it can be
good sometimes & other time
not so good. what i didn’t notice
for a long time is that i moved
from imagining my life
simply for the joy of it
to imagining a life
everyone else felt was possible.
let’s say i don’t do that anymore.

No Cheese Down that Tunnel
The New Moon offers a Reset. Like a trigger point, it stimulates what is being phased out of our life. The New Moon occurs at the same place where Saturn and Neptune hung out throughout 2025 inspiring big endings. Dreams we dedicated ourelves to may no longer have the same power or meaning they once had. We may feel we have been shedding our very identity as we release things that once defined us.
The New Moon may introduce an unexpected ending. We are to go with it. By saying goodbye to something, we are making space for the new dream we will dedicated ourselves to.
It is okay to not yet feel fully settled or yet free of what we are releasing. There may still be some messiness to resolve. But what we are sensing is over is in fact over. We have the awareness that there is no longer any 'cheese down that tunnel'. Acting from that awareness, we are likely to feel lighter and re-energized to look for where the cheese, our fulfillment, is waiting for us now.
The phrase: No cheese down that tunnel comes from a lab experiment with mice. In this experiment, a structure was built that had three tunnels. Cheese was placed at the end of the first tunnel. A mouse was placed in the structure at the junction between the tunnels. Smelling cheese, the mouse raced around a bit until he found the cheese at the end of the first tunnel.
Later, the same mouse was placed in the structure gain, but this time, the cheese had been moved to the end of tunnel #3. The mouse having already found the cheese in the first tunnel didn’t search around, but simply ran straight down to the end of tunnel #1. Finding no cheese there, they looked around a bit and finally left the tunnel. Still smelling the cheese, he headed again down tunnel #1. Again and again, the mouse came back out of Tunnel #1, thought a moment and then headed back down tunnel #1 again to find the cheese. At some point, after they come back out of tunnel #1, they would have an epiphany. Somewhere in their brain, they realized there was 'No cheese down that tunnel'. And with this realization, the mouse then tries another tunnel.
The experiment was tried with different mice who first found the cheese in Tunnel #1. When the cheese was moved to Tunnel #3, each mouse would then go up and down Tunnel #1 again and again looking for the cheese they were sure was there.
One mouse might go down tunnel #1 three times; another might go down it ten times and another might go down it twenty times before they had their epiphany. There was no pattern to how many times a mouse would go down tunnel #1 before their brain had the awareness that there was in fact “No cheese down that tunnel”.
So, what may have been true yesterday or a year ago, may not be true today. Somewhere in our lives we are currently having the realization of “No cheese down that tunnel.” At one time, we found the cheese, the payoff or outcome we sought, through a winning strategy and set of actions. And now, we are realizing that no matter how many more times we do what once brought us a feeling of success, there is no longer cheese down that tunnel. We are ready to look elsewhere to find the cheese (i.e., the love, happiness, friendship, fulfillment, satisfying work…)
Water and Fire = Steam
In watery Pisces: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Vesta, Pallas and the North Node
In fiery Aries: Saturn, Neptune, Venus, Chiron, Eris
Nearly all the planets are hanging out in one small section of the sky straddling two signs Aries and Pisces. Aries is Fire and Pisces is Air and so a preponderance of planets in these signs creates a steamy dynamic. Imagination and intuitive sensibilities are heightened. Dreams while sleeping can deliver potent messages. Psychic abilities are more active but so is the potential for deception or being seduced by something illusory.
The New Moon is at the anaretic degree of Pisces which can stir up Pisces' shadow elements: deception, lies, addictions, or victim consciousness. We are more prone to being reactive to information, people or events. Rather than blurt something out or take some ill thought out action, we are to pause, quiet ourselves and ask: what is true about what I am perceiving? We can have insight into what tunnel does have the cheese and what tunnel will leave us high and dry.

In order to discern truth
in our hearts,
we must unpack
the lies.

The New Life is at our Doorstep
New Moon Co-Ruler Neptune conjunct Saturn
Collectively in 2024-25, we were in a holding pattern with Neptune and Saturn in the final degrees of Pisces. Many of us felt frustrated at what wasn't happening. There was frustration around a lack of momentum to move life forward. It took effort to not feel discouraged or lose hope. But the energy has shifted now. We are greenlighted to believe, to hope, to trust our instincts about what we can achieve in the coming years (Saturn and Neptune arriving in Aries).
Neptune has moved off of the world axis point of 0° Aries, where its been for the last two months birthing the new dream for us personally and collectively. The planet of spirituality, Neptune represents our highest ideals. In Aries, the sign of the warrior, we are preparing to be a warrior for our ideals. On a collective level, this is likely to give rise to great leaders and false messiahs alike, And it serves to fuel holy wars and the battle over cherished beliefs.
Staying focused on what this means for us in our individual soul journey, we are to identify and feed the desire for the new dream being birthed in our life. Fog and uncertainty around the dream will disperse and we can create the plans needed to make the dream happen when Saturn moves away from Neptune come May.
Saturn, in Aries until April 2028, harnesses and restrain the impulse for bold, fast action. We are not supported in just winging it, but to move forward in a responsible way with timelines, plans, and defined goals. Simultaneously, Neptune works with divine timing which we will experience as synchronicities, kismet occurrences or results that required less effort than we thought. But these will occur if we set aside the impulse immediate gratification, pace ourselves and look to follow a well thought out plan
We are Re-Invigorated
New Moon Co-Ruler: Jupiter trine Mars and square Venus
Jupiter, the Great Benefic, has just ended its four-month retrograde and is again moving forward. Our spirits may suddenly feel lifted up. Jupiter brings growth. We can feel the sap rising within us; our passion and energy is renewed and we may feel up once more for the next adventure, learning, or changes we wish to make. With Mars and Jupiter in water signs, we are inspired to move forward with sensitivity to our feeling nature and with empathy towards those around us.

The real treasure of life,
the one difficult to find
and hard to attain, is never
far from us. That’s an unwritten
rule on this earth. What we desperately
desire and need most is buried
in the recesses of our innermost being
all along. This is the open secret
found in many traditions
and told in many ways.
Yet it remains a secret because trusting
in oneself remains one of the hardest
things to do in life.

Truths we are Ready to Hear
Mercury conjunct North Node
Mercury has been retrograde since February 26 in the sign of Pisces, asking us to reflect on our spiritual journey, and to open to new understandings about the big picture of where we are and where we are to direct our attention next to fulfill our soul's longing.
Mercury is coming to a standstill ready to move direct on March 20 just in time for the equinox. Until the end of the month, Mercury conjoins the North Node. The North Node points us to our future and operates like a North Star. In Pisces, inspiration about our future will arrive in unconventional and often surprising ways.
We are to pay attention to who crosses our path and what gets communicated over the next couple weeks. We are primed to experience a fantastic synchronicity or fated connection. Messages arrive in ways Pisces modes of communication: in music lyrics, a billboard ad, a poem, through dreams, in our morning meditation or through a bird that perches on our windowsill. Listen for the truth that resonates throughout our whole body. We are not to analyze the inspiration or overthink it, but simply embrace the message it has for us.
March 20, 2026: The Spring Equinox
The day of the Spring Equinox, Mercury goes direct and there are 5 planets in Aries. The 2026 spring equinox offers a powerful affirmation that spring has arrived. And just as the earth across the northern hemisphere is bursting with new buds and all manner of greens, the equinox sparks new life in us. It marks a time when we are ready to move from contemplation to declaration, from completing and releasing to building the new life. The Pisces New Moon provides us with the permission to pause, to listen and to hone the dream of what is true for us now so that are ready to move with the surge of energy that will be coursing through us with the Spring Equinox and the potent Aries energy that will continue through April.
