Gemini Full Moon: Thoughts Crystallize

If you limit your choices

only to what seems possible

or reasonable, you disconnect

yourself from what you truly

want, and all that is left

is a compromise.

The Full Moon on December 4, 2025, at 13° Gemini

finds us needing to make some choices. Information and feelings we have been exploring are coalescing, beginning to crystallize into a course of action. We are getting ready to declare something, commit our plan to writing, or make a decision that aligns with a deep understanding of ourselves and is a break from the past and how we have previously operated.

Our mind is focused on daily tasks, darting about as it absorbs new information, weighs risks, assesses feasibility, and discerns pros and cons around choices that need to be made. Yet deep within us, we are to be aware of emotional truths pertaining to what we want and need that are to guide and coalesce our many thoughts into a course of action.

To support this movement, we are to lower the volume on the rational mind that seeks data and assurances and turn our attention what we are feeling and the internal patterns that inform how our mind perceives potentials, challenges, and a desired course of action. Our feelings can reveal truths that we have missed or downplayed that are essential in choosing the best course of action. It is not about favoring feeling over logic, or information over intuitive wisdom. The Full Moon invites us to find a way to balance and integrate both approaches in making a decision.

There may be a lot going on in our daily life. We are to sink into the wisdom of our heart and honor what we are feeling. This may include saying 'no' to some things, as we look to free ourselves from obligations or expectations that have restrained or held us back from pursuing what means the most to us. We are looking to make choices that help us to breathe easier, give us a greater sense of freedom, and remove the distractions that clutter our mind and day.

Full Moons occur at the peak of each lunar cycle. The days leading up to the Full Moon bring increased momentum, activity and often mounting pressure. Something comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough which can lead to resolution. During the two weeks following a Full Moon, we are completing the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.

The house where 13° Gemini resides in our natal chart indicate the area of life where we are in a deep inquiry, ready to make a choice or choices that carry us in a new direction and not a repetition of what we have already experienced.

Surface Mind. Deep Mind.

Full Moon ruler: Mercury

Our mind is operating on two levels: we are focused on day to day tasks with an eye towards seeing the big picture and making decisions based on what will carry us forward and release us from old ways of operating (Full Moon square the Nodes)

But for our choices to take us in the most beneficial direction, we need to sink beneath the rational mind and the world of data and facts. Our mind is currently operating in a deeper, more internal capacity, connecting us with hidden feelings, motivations and desires that live in our subconscious mind (Mercury in Scorpio and a Water Grand Trine). Our feelings can guide us to truths and clarity around a choice we need to make.

A teacher I had once said to me, "If you are making a decision between two things, you are in your mind. If you know what to do, than you are in your heart." The rational mind can define the details of a decision and gather information needed to make a sound decision. But as we listen to our heart, we are than called to trust what we feel ourselves drawn to. When we know what to do, the choice becomes easy, because the choice ceases to be a choice at all.

Mercury was Retrograde until November 20. As Mercury emerges from its post shadow phase of the retrograde cycle, it indicates that we have been in a deep process around some theme, project or behavior. We may be working through feelings we have around it, but we are ready to make a decision. Over the last weeks, we may have elected to be private, to keep what we are ruminating to ourselves, but the time has come to write down our ideas or share them in some way with others.

Mercury in Scorpio counters the scattered tendencies of the Gemini Moon as it encourages us to tune out distractions, quiet the mind chatter, and zero in on what is most deserving of our attention.. We are encouraged to being laser focused around creating a strategy for how to move forward.

Mercury began its Retrograde in Sagittarius on November 9 and will return to Sagittarius again on December 12.  We may be exploring making a decision around something Sagittarian in nature - looking for ways to fuel our sense of adventure and possibility. We may want to travel or study something new. A decision we make to expand our horizons will likely have us feeling lighter and optimistic.

Mercury oppose Uranus can bring flashes of insight or unexpected communications that have us shifting our direction or priorities. We can also feel bombarded by information through social media, the news, work, or in personal relationships. Our nervous system may feel taxed trying to absorb the multitude of thoughts we are trying to process. It is prudent to not get lost in chatter or endless mental processing. The Mercury Grand Trine (see below) offers a built in anecdote to this Full Moon tendency.

Mercury in a Water Grand Trine with outer planets Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter. Our mind is attuned to what lives deep within, to feelings, desires, fears and complex dynamics that don’t present easy solutions. People we love and respect can offer supportive solutions at this time. With Mercury in Scorpio, we may be looking at issues around finances, taxes or investments. We may have wanted to keep our internal exploration private and not speak to others about it. And now a plan of action is crystallizing that we are ready to bring into the open.

Mercury quincunx Chiron. We have the potential to unlearn ways we were taught to think, and open ourselves to discover an enhanced way for the rational and intuitive to work in tandem so that we can perceive with greater clarity. Our conditioning has taught us to see life in certain ways and to solve problems with certain ways of thinking. We have the potential to expand our way of thinking, to find new ways to articulate what we are feeling and sensing.

Choices informed by Knowledge

Gemini/Sagittarius Polarity

Gemini and Sagittarius form the axis of information, learning, communication and knowledge.  Gemini seeks it out. Sagittarius makes sense of it. Gemini deals with mundane life and  Sagittarius looks at the bigger picture, providing context and meaning to the life we live.

The Full Moon compels us to make decisions keeping the bigger picture in mind (Gemini Moon oppose the Sagittarius Sun), and to allow the emotional truths of our wants and needs (Full Moon Ruler, Mercury in Scorpio in a Grand Water Trine) to help guide our decisions.

The Gemini Moon inclines us to focus on moment by moment decisions and logistics of daily life. We are looking to manage our time, be organized and get things done. There is a tendency towards nervous exhaustion, being chatty, multitasking and keeping ourselves busy for the sake of staying busy. Our mind is ramped up, exploring a multitude of thoughts and analyzing options from different angles or perspectives. We may be processing more information than we can digest effectively.

The Sun in Sagittarius keep us considering the bigger picture, helping us discern what is essential or important. Along with Venus and Mars, also in Sagittarius, we can identify priorities based on what we feel is meaningful and supports our sense of purpose. This will help give riverbanks to a mind that can ride roughshod if we let it.

The Choice that Feels Good

Full Moon Square the Nodes

The Lunar Nodes, often called the Nodes of Fate, help us understand how to move from where we are now towards the realization of potentials available to us.

We are invited to make choices that steer us away from old ways of doing things. We are encouraged to take a chance and try a new way, a new approach to life, and not think that sticking with the familiar, the tried and true will be a safe bet.

We may feel uneasy around a new path opening up to us because we don't yet fully understand it. The strangeness of it can leave us confused and unsettled. There may be some responsibility we need to let go of, so we can embrace an opportunity. When we drop out of our head (Mutable Grand Trine) and anchor ourselves in the truth of what we are feeling, we can find the guidance needed to make a choice in favor of what we feel is right for us. We can only go so far in rationally thinking everything through. At some moment, we are to feel the movement, to where we are energetically drawn to go, and to trust that this direction is supported.

New Strength Born of New Awareness

Mars in exact trine with Chiron

Mars square Neptune, Saturn, trine Chiron, and quincunx Jupiter

Mars in Sagittarius helps us synthesize and integrate what we have been understanding about ourselves. This awareness gives us confidence to move forward, to make choices that express or explore what draw us. There are fears and protective behaviors we have outgrown, and we feel stand up for who we are and what we are about. This doesn't mean that the wind is at our backs. The challenges we face are real (Mars square Saturn) and we are advised to not overreach (Mars square Jupiter) as what we want to accomplish may take more time and effort than we initially estimated. The path before us is not yet clear, but we are to remove obstacles that block us, say goodbye to dreams that no longer hold promise and to let the emotional truth of who we are guide us through the next months as a collective dream ends and a door opens to the dawn of a new era. (Mars square Saturn and Neptune at the end of Pisces)

This resonated with me on such a deep level. I don’t exactly know how to read charts, but I looked up the transit and it’s hitting at the same placement (off by 5 degrees) as my mercury that’s also in Gemini. All in the 9th house of [Sagittarius] and learning. Meanwhile I’ve been contemplating getting my masters in something unconventional—Consciousness Psychology & Transformarion—and my logical, traditional, science brain who got a bachelors in biology is protesting. It’s the real life battle. I love that quote, “if you’re making a decision between two things, you’re in your mind. If you know what do do, then you’re in your heart.” It’s like you spoke right to me. Happy full moon iilluminations ✨
