I had to reinvent myself
a hundred times
just to find some peace of mind.
Without flexibility,
I would have been stuck
in horrible situations.

The Full Moon on July 10, 2025, at 19 Capricorn
provides us with our annual mid-year reality check on what is working and not working. We are supported in assessing and making adjustments to our 2025 schedule and goals. Priorities may shift and the web we are weaving may need to alter its design in response to the winds of circumstance.
The Full Moon is a potential turning point offering eye-opening realizations about what is viable, what no longer holds promise, and the changes we feel compelled to make. We are to own our choices and assume responsibility for the goals we are pursuing, while remembering to make decisions from love and not fear. Key planets changing signs indicate that the pace of life is picking up. Yet, as we enter a several month Retrograde Season , we are to find ways to slow down in a life that seems to be speeding up. It is vital that we schedule time to reflect, re-evaluate and retool plans and routines so we are better aligned with the larger movements and sweeping changes unfolding within the collective.

New Moon Co Ruler: Uranus enters Gemini
Rarer Small Grand Trine: Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto
Full Moons occur at the peak of each lunar cycle. The days leading up to the Full Moon bring increased momentum, activity and often mounting pressure. At the Full Moon, emotions and tides run high. Something comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough which can lead to resolution. During the two weeks following a Full Moon, we are completing the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.
The house where 16 – 21 Capricorn resides in our natal chart directs our attention to the area of life where we need to make adjustments and make decisions that will commit us to working towards a set of defined goals.

If we bend and adapt,
work with rather than
against, we might discover
that the wall we perceive
at our backs is actually
a foundation for something
else entirely.

The Web We Weave
An analogy
Contemplating the Full Moon, I thought of a spider - looming small against the backdrop of the immense natural environment in which it lives and depends upon. Like the spider, we select what we feel is a prime location to achieve our goals and then create a web of connection, a web of attraction, and a web we hope will sustain us.
But rarely, if ever, does a web remain in its initial shape for long. Our web is continually being repaired, reinvented, or expanded. Foul weather can tear at the fabric of the web or be entirely obliterated if a person or animal charges through its delicate fibers. To maintain our equilibrium and a measure of inner peace, we need to accept that the web we have created is tenuous, vulnerable and ever-evolving, and in need of our constant care and attention.
The spider weaves a web in search of flies. In our web, we look to snare a job or a home or some favorable circumstance. We hope our web will attract the resources needed to nourish us.
The design of our web is not static. It is not something we create once. We are sometimes surprised when the need to repair or rebuild presents itself. And sometimes, we need to relocate and rebuild our web from scratch. So, the design of our web needs to be less about perfection and more about having the flexibility to adjust to circumstance.
The responsibility to build and complete the web is a Capricorn impulse. It requires commitment, industriousness and the patience needed to achieve the goal. The Capricorn Full Moon brings us a reality check that will reveal where our web is weak, faulty, in need of repair or redesign. What are we wanting to catch with our web and how can we improve on the design of our web to better do that?
Finding Balance, Ensuring Self-Nurturance
Cancer Sun oppose the Capricorn New Moon
Capricorn, an earth sign, values pragmatism and concrete results. To achieve our long-range goals, there may be new clarity around how we use our time, whether our budget or expenditures are realistic, and how we articulate our goals. We are urged to walk our talk, and to change habits and behaviors that are not aligned with our expressed priorities. To make the changes needed, the Capricorn Full Moon helps us grasp the big picture, where we can define the road that brought us to where we are now and from there to project where the road ahead will lead.
The Cancer Sun tempers the ambitious Capricorn Moon. In a water sign, the Sun draws attention to our feeling nature and need for nurturance. The tension of the Full Moon urges us to move forward in a balanced way - to invest equally in the dreams of what we want to create in the world and with what we want to experience in our personal lives. The Cancer Sun invites us to not minimize or downplay the nourishment of our home, closest relationships and personal wellbeing in favor of some worldly goal.
We may recognize that we are overextended or overcommitted. So, we can sustain our dedication to realizing our goals, we may see to accomplish this, we need to take time to nurture ourselves now. Perhaps it is time for a vacation or to have extended, unstructured time with those we love. Not addressing burnout can undermine our capacity to achieve what we have set out to do. We are to be mindful that our thoughts and time . New solutions can arise for issues facing us if we are not overschedule, overly consumed with meeting deadlines, or fixated on fulfilling other’s expectations. Realizing our dreams is desirable, but so is the journey, the experience of ourselves and our days, all along the way.
Capricorn Moon sextile the North Node. We can trust our feelings to discern what is too stressful, heavy or burdensome. There are things it is time close out, tie up, or pass on. With an eye to the bigger picture, we can readily see what has become a distraction or may no longer be worthwhile to pursue.
Capricorn Moon sextile Virgo Mars. Our feet are on the earth as we ponder choices that will generate more ease and relaxation in how we pursue our goals. To accomplish this, something needs to be released for us to have more balance in our life.
July 20 - 23 may find us frustrated with an investment that has not panned out, requiring we make a change that we have avoided making (Mars conjunct the North Node).

A [person] is worked upon
by what he works on.
He may carve out his circumstances,
but his circumstances will
carve him out as well.

Doubling Back to Reinforce What has Begun
New Moon Ruler: Saturn
Saturn turns Retrograde July 13. It has slowed to a crawl, readying to standstill and move backward. Likewise, we are to slow down, and for the next four months of the Retrograde, take time to re-evaluate the irons we have put in the fire.
Something completely new and unprecedented is emerging in our life (Saturn in Aries), and we are encouraged now to slow down enough to make sure that our new start has a strong foundation. It is okay if plans become delayed or there are unforeseen obstacles to solve, as they reveal where we are not aligned for success and show us where some tweaking is needed.
Come fall, Saturn will retrograde back into Pisces, cuing us to complete old projects or let go of commitments or behaviors that stand in the way of the new start that is taking hold. To counter potential impatience or frustration with the slower pace (Saturn in Aries), we can understand that things have slowed down so we can see something that was overlooked. Or we can see that more time was needed for a key piece of information to be received.
Saturn Conjunct Neptune, occurring in the first degrees of Aries, heralds a paradigm shift unfolding over the next year. These two planets are not easily bedfellows. Saturn seeks certainty. Neptune dissolves certainty, thus exposing the fluidity, vulnerability and temporality of nature. Saturn looks to strengthen and concretize structures to life is stable, secure and predictable. Neptune is more fluid, expansive and reminds us that all we engage in day to day living is illusory, a shared dream, and that there is a reality larger than what we can perceive with our senses.
Traveling together, Saturn and Neptune have us vacillating between spiritual idealism and pragmatic realism so we can come up with a vision that encompasses both. Saturn inhibits and Neptune confuses, so while Aries is fast-moving and quick on its feet, both these planets facilitate a slowing down in favor of cautiousness and continued re-evaluation around what we wish to realize.
Going Back to Let the Heart Catch Up
Mercury Retrograde in Leo (July 17 to August 11)
Leo is the sign of the child. The Leo spirit is courageous, confident, and joyful. With Leo emphasized, we connect with the desire to be seen, fully expressed, and appreciated for what we have to offer. During the Retrograde, we are to gain clarity on what has dimmed our light, and where we have lost that childlike view of the world as our oyster. We are to contemplate changes we can make that will foster courage and confidence in what want to offer the world. We are to look at ways we can believe we are something special and that the light of our love can make a difference.
Look to the house in our natal chart where 4 - 14 degrees of Leo resides in our natal chart for clues as to the areas of life the Retrograde will directly affect.
We are entering a several month Retrograde season (meaning multiple planets are Retrograde), and with Mercury Retrograde, this reinforces the need to review, reconsider and retool. We want ensure our heart (Leo) is in sync with our thinking (Mercury).
Mid-August, Mercury will interact with a rare and magnificent Small Grand Trine (see description below). This will open our mind to radically new ideas. With Mercury in Leo, our job is to gain clarity on what speaks to our heart and how we personally want to move within the wave of collective change moving towards us. Our sense of purpose may be altering as we are infused with future potentials that have us rethink our life.

The river does not rage
against the rocks in its path;
it simply flows around them,
shaping its own course
with patience and persistence.
Strength is not always about
resistance—it is often about
adaptability.

Accelerated Pace and Communications
New Moon Ruler: Uranus in Gemini (July 2025 - August 2032)
On July 7, for the first time in 84 years, Uranus entered fast-moving hyper-social Gemini. Uranus is the last of the transpersonal planets to change signs this year; there is accelerated excitement as our minds and lives become flooded with new ideas, fast moving solutions, lots of information and fast-evolving methods for how we communicate with each other. There are likely to be fantastic inventions in aviation and travel, language and communication, as well as in systems of childhood and university education.
Gemini represents our mind and the faculties needed to navigate earthly life. Uranus is the universal or higher mind and it will be infusing our thoughts with new paradigms that activate dormant parts of our consciousness, infusing us with universal truths that may alter our beliefs and understanding of truths.
The pace of life is likely to pick up speed. Our mind may easily become overloaded. To avoid undue mental stress, we need to have a regular practice, such as Tai Chi or yoga, that effectively slows us down, calms our nervous system, connect us with our breath and brings our attention into our body.
Human Existence Re-Imagined
Rare Small Grand Trine (2025 – 2028)
Uranus trine Pluto and both Sextile Neptune and Saturn in the early degrees of fire and air signs. The last time these four planets made a similar configuration was in the early part of the 4th century AD. The configuration occurs at critical degrees of new signs, signaling a collective initiation. Themes of personal sovereignty, truth-telling, and liberation from illusion are likely to rise, echoing past revolutionary cycles in human history.
These four planets are called The Transpersonal Planets as they affect collective and generational movements. In harmonic relationship with each other, they become a cosmic tuning fork, infusing humanity with universal principles that will reinvent culture and reimagine how humanity lives and connects.
Outdated paradigms will dissolve and be replaced with visionary ideals rooted in compassion and inclusivity. We will have an expanded awareness around the divine, the role of religion/spirituality, and our place within the cosmos. The last time this configuration occurred (early 4th century), it coincided with the Constantinian Shift, a pivotal moment in Western history when Christianity became the dominant spiritual and political force in the Roman Empire, where it became woven into the fabric of the emerging western culture. The alignment of the outer planets in 4 BC heralded a profound restructuring of collective belief systems, power dynamics, and cultural paradigms.
Collective systems will be transformed from the inside out. This will include continued seismic breakthroughs in AI, communications, energy systems, and transportation. Because these four planets connect with transpersonal, cosmic forces, we will have the opportunity to ground spiritual ideals into tangible systems in education, government and financial systems.
As I write the above, it seems hard to believe - rather lofty and not reflective of what we are currently experiencing in the U.S. and around the world. But I trust in the power of these four transpersonal planets in how they play the long game in the ways they facilitate change. The small grand trine has just newly taken shape, so it is currently just setting the stage and conditions for the transformative developments to take place. The next few months afford us the opportunity to attune to our heart and align to the deeper shifts coming. In doing this, we will intuit the adjustments we need to make so we can ride the wave of what will soon be on our doorstep.
