We understand
how dangerous
a mask can be.
We all become
what we pretend to be.
Patrick Rothfuss

Love takes off masks
that we fear we cannot live without
and know we cannot live within.
James Baldwin
The Full Moon on October 6, 2025, at 14° Aries
gives us the courage to see something in ourself that has been hidden, freeing up vitality needed to move towards what we want most. Initiating honest dialogue to address areas of disconnect in key relationships can catalyze adjustments so that these relationships better affirm and honor the truth of who we are and where we are going.
Because we are changing, the masks we erected to protect ourself, to fit in, or to just get along with others, no longer seem viable. There is a new dream for our life taking shape that motivates us to address the fears that keep us small. Sensing we can no longer hold ourselves back (Aries Moon), we desire a deeper understanding of ourself (Mars and Mercury in Scorpio).
Taking off the mask, the personae we have erected, we are more genuine with others. If we are truthful with ourselves, the imbalances in our relationships become obvious. We are to honor what we want as we look for deep and revelatory conversations. Addressing unhealthy patterns between us an another can forge a new level of authenticity, reciprocity and love.

Full Moons occur at the peak of each lunar cycle. The days leading up to the Full Moon bring increased momentum, activity and often mounting pressure. At the Full Moon, emotions and tides run high. Something comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough which can lead to resolution. During the two weeks following a Full Moon, we are completing the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.
The house 13 Aries° resides in our natal chart indicate the areas of life where we are understanding more of what makes us tick, and how to assert and integrate this into our relationships.

Heroes in real life
don't wear masks and capes.
Sometimes they don't stand
out at all. But real heroes
can save a life - or many lives -
just by answering the call
in their heart.

Magnification of What is Really Going On
Full Moon square Jupiter through October 18
Over the next week, Jupiter enlarges dynamics, patterns and agendas - both hidden and in the open - that are playing out in our relationships. We see clearly how we operate and have insight on how we want to operate. Our courage to resolve imbalances in relationships is also amplified. The masks we wear to keep the peace or not rock the boat suddenly feel constrictive. We are ready to risk showing all our cards as a means towards creating what we really want. Because everyone around us is prompted to do the same, new levels of shared understanding can transform how we relate with others.
We Grow in Relationship
Aries Moon Oppose Libra Sun
We want to partner with others and we do not want to apologize, edit, compromise or inhibit our desire to fulfill our individual potential. The tension between these two seeks resolution at the full moon so both are possible. We want to be fully ourselves and have healthy, supportive relationships. The Full Moon gives us the courage to do let those we care about see who we are, hear about how we see ourselves changing, and to know what we need to feel supported within relationship.
We are willing to take off the mask and see the truth about who we are and meet others in the truth of who they are. Honest dialogue may center around issues of fairness, mutuality, giving and receiving, and patterns of power and powerlessness. We are to stay connected to ourself and what need to assert, without getting sidelined by what is happening for another. Karmic relationships can experience deep shifts in healing. There can be new understanding about what we have been learning in relationships. Some relationship may find closure or end, as this coincides with a period of big endings (Saturn and Neptune Retrograde at 29 Pisces) .

We are all deceivers
to some degree.
The difference between safe
and unsafe “liars”
is that safe people own
their lies and see them
as a problem to change
as they become aware
of their deception.

Emotional Truth in the Driver Seat
New Moon Ruler: Mars trines the North Node
Desires are intensified with Mars in Scorpio, fueling our ambition and determination. Driven by the truth of what we want, we are apt to face the fears that can derail us from our objective. We are to give ourselves to our heart's desire for what we want to transform in our life. (Mars trine the North Node).
Mercury, also in Scorpio, generates even more intensity and passion. We have the strength to face our fears, and look at truths about ourself head on (Mercury square Pluto). Masks we have worn have become constrictive. Deep conversation with others is recommended to move beyond denial, confusion or subtle deceptions so we can become more embodied, more true to ourself (Mercury at apex of Yod with Saturn and Uranus).
With Mars and Mercury both in Scorpio we are inspired to be fearless. We are ready look at ourselves and our relationships head on and do what is required to transform what is not working.

This is one of the marks
of a truly safe person:
they are confrontable.

Integrating the Past
Jupiter square Chiron
Throughout the month of October, we have the potential for a deeper understanding of how our past experiences, especially childhood years, have shaped us (Jupiter in Cancer). We are encouraged to become more self-aware (Chiron in Aries). Something that was left unresolved surfaces, perhaps accompanied by intense emotion. We are to meet ourselves with love and self-acceptance so what has been ignored or repressed do not run us (Chiron square Jupiter). There is the potential for the clearing of karmic patterns that have been passed down through our bloodlines. We are to acknowledge how we are changing and to discard the fears that kept us small.
Satisfaction and Reward with Completions
Saturn trine Jupiter through December, 2025
Until the end of the year, the planet of Growth (Jupiter) and the planet of Responsibility (Saturn) are in a harmonious trine. We are encouraged to be accountable, and act with self-respect and integrity. If we do, the remainder of the year can signal a period where we make advancements in our endeavors. Elders, parents or authority figures may express recognition for work we have done. We may be rewarded for how we have engaged patterns or intense emotions, and we may find emotional satisfaction in the wake of completing and closing out (Saturn/Neptune return to Pisces).
Mars and Mercury in a Water Grand Trine with Saturn and Jupiter later in October, serving to amplify the potentials of the Jupiter Saturn trine, and catalyzes a purging of whatever is heavy so we can feel lighter. There may be an energetic and emotional release as we come to ‘the end of era’ with some aspect of our lives. Our emotional core is clearing, becoming stronger, and we feel we can relax more into our body and into our life.

Break the chains of fear
and you break the chains
that bind us.

Within the Past, is the Keys to Freedom
Fixed Star Alpheratz conjunct the New Moon
Both the constellation of Pegasus and the constellation of Andromeda share a fixed star, and it is the brightest star in each of their constellations. Alpheratz is known as the Navel of Pegasus and the Flowing Hair of Andromeda.
Pegasus, the majestic white horse with wings, symbolizes freedom and the love of moment.
Andromeda, the Chained Lady, has long, flowing hair. Her hair is associated with the joy of letting one's hair be free and unbound, and feeling the wind in one’s hair. Alpheratz, aligned with the Full Moon, has us reach for greater self-expression. We feel a thirst for freedom and independence.
If we consider Pegasus, though, his great freedom arrived after undue restraint. He was unable to be birthed from his mother until her head was cut off. He was conceived when the god Neptune ravished Medusa, an beautiful young women who had previously dedicated herself to the goddess Athena. Athena felt betrayed by her acolyte and so turned her into the hideous form Medusa is known for, with snakes for hair and an eye that turned everything to stone that it gazed upon. Pregnant with Pegasus, he was not born until her life ended.
Perhaps like Pegasus, we too are shaped by our past, but no longer need to be defined by it. There is something new rising up from it. Perhaps there is a fearfulness we have been carrying, or some way we have identified ourself that is ready to fall away, so that another part of us can take flight. The mistakes of our past or of our ancestors do not need to limit us, and by acknowledging how they have shaped us, we can loosen their grip on us and find a freedom from the past that we have longed for.
