It's as if I've crossed
an invisible threshold,
and now the idea
of staying where I was
feels impossible,
as though my soul
has already leapt
ahead, leaving the rest
of me to catch up.

The Annular Solar Eclipse on February 17, 2026 at 29° Aquarius
opens the door to the future we have felt coming... for years. Events this month mark a departure from the dream we have been living as a new dream emerges. A new era, a new cycle is ready to take root. There may be sudden and surprising developments surrounding this eclipse that serve to remove the illusions and structures that block our way forward.
Many of us have been in a holding pattern, feeling powerless to move our life forward. The solar eclipse provides us a glimpse of the new vision that we will flesh out and fight to realize as the year progresses.
Take time in the hours or days following the eclipse to quiet and open to what is stirring and coming to life deep within. It can be beneficial to write down or express what stands out and to name the threshold we are crossing that will mark this time as when our life began to move forward in an unprecedented direction.
The Eclipse CoRuler: Uranus square the eclipse
The Eclipse CoRuler: Saturn conjunct Neptune at the Creation Point
Mars conjunct the eclipse
Mercury in its retrograde pre-shadow zone trine Jupiter
Mercury and Venus conjunct the North Node
A Solar Eclipse marks a turning point that yields fresh beginnings accompanied by timely endings. When this occurs at 29°, the last degree of a sign, potential shifts come with intensity and urgency. The 29° point represents completion. It provides a bookmark that notes where a chapter of life is closing and where we are turning a page to embark in a new direction. But to turn that page, something is left behind.
An annular eclipse, known as a Ring of Fire Eclipse, occurs as the Moon passes between the earth and the Sun, covering 96% of the Sun. This creates a bright ring of light visible along the path of annularity that can be seen in Antarctica and areas that occupy the Southern Ocean including the southern portions of Argentina, Chile, South Africa.
This is a North Node Eclipse. The Moon is near the north node which is associated with potentials for future growth. This creates a hunger for moving forward. We are restlessness as we feel the urge to break away from the past and satisfy our craving for something new. The eclipse generates an intensity around the sense of urgency we may feel around our urges.

The familiar life horizon
has been outgrown:
the old concepts, ideals, and
emotional patterns no longer fit;
the time for the passing
of a threshold is at hand.
Joseph Campbell
For years, we have been moving towards this Threshold
For some time, I have been aware of the life-changing potency surrounding the astrological alignments that surround this eclipse. An image surfaces each time I contemplate its energetics, and it is the image of a threshold.
John Donohue says, "a threshold is not a simple boundary; it is a frontier that divides two different territories, rhythms, and atmospheres." For me, I have felt that as we cross the threshold that appears at the solar eclipse, life will become markedly different. It may take some time to see how this will manifest but, at some point, we will look back on this time period and say that this is where one way of living ended and another one began.
The threshold is not so mundane as a door we open to go from inside to outside or one room to another. The threshold stirs images of sci fi movies where a portal appears and in a matter of a few steps, as someone crosses its threshold, they find themselves transported to a distant location, period of time or to a different world all together.
Rounding the Bend. Another way I have been envisioning the solar eclipse these last months: we are moving down the river of our life. We can hear the rushing of the water ahead but we cannot see it because it is around a bend in the river. While we can hear it, hear that is different than the stretch of water that we are on, we don’t really know what we will be dealing with. We can surmise some things by the sound of it. We can intuit some things. But until we turn the bend, we cannot see it. At this eclipse, we turn the bend and can begin to see what is up ahead, what we are to navigate.
To perceive what has led to this point, to this threshold, this rounding the bend, we could look at rare astrological alignments that have not occurred for at least 800 years. We can look to different cycles that have come to an end like Neptune's 165 synodic cycle or Saturn/Neptune's 50-year cycle which has been heralded big endings and promising radical new beginnings as they start their new synodic cycles this month! We are living in times of rapid shifts for humankind, some that began before we or our parents were born making it challenging to wrap our minds around how the cycle is playing out in our personal lives.
So, I take us back to 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn ushering in a16-year period of time where the structures we had built for our life and within society would be tested for their strength and integrity. If the systems, corporations, laws or standard ways of operating were found wanting, their flaws would be exposed, and they would enter a period of deconstruction. This process accelerated 2012 – 2015 when Pluto squared Uranus which tested how well we had incorporated the ideals and values asserted during the 60’s revolution when Pluto and Uranus began a new 250-year synodic cycle. We watched as issues we thought were handled suddenly erupted as big issues once again. This includes issues of civil rights, political corruption, drugs, women's rights, religious freedom.
In 2020 Pluto conjoined Saturn further accelerating its Capricorn agenda and we all experienced how the systems of life came to a grinding halt for a period of time, some to never start back up. In November 2025, Pluto departed Capricorn where it won't return for another 250 years. Systems and organizations that have outworn their purpose or have become corrupted had crumbled so a new era can begin, an era ushered in by Pluto’s entry into Aquarius. Varying structures and systems may still be in the process of falling, much like how buildings that are still standing but compromised after an earthquake, may crumble days or weeks following the earthquake.
We are living in a time of great transition as what we thought was solid and reliable has fallen away. In 2025, we had glimpses of the new dream, the new era, the new life that will emerge out of the rubble, but we were not supported in carrying them forward.
We are crossing a threshold, presented at this eclipse. where we as a collective step across an energetic opening that carries us away from the world familiar to us and into a future that has been arriving for some time and now is here.
Ideas and dreams we have been mulling over can now be pursued in a way we could not do a day or two ago. We may still be dealing with completing and ending something in our life, but we are doing it within the context and perspective of the new world we find ourselves in. This new world is primarily conceptual right as the collective begins to shape their shared understanding of it. While not yet real, we can now take what we have been feeling and the ideas we have been pondering and give them definition, shape a plan around them and take the first steps to realizing them.
We have been in a holding pattern since early autumn of 2025 as the outer planets retrograded back into their previous sign, which compelled us to slow down, complete, integrate and let go of what was ending in our lives. Again and again, people and clients I spoke with over the last months talked about a significant ending in their life– a job, a marriage, the last child leaving the nest, the selling of a home…or a habit, behavior or pattern of relating…They then talked about how they can't seem to move forward. Unable to start something new, they have been in a holding pattern, a kind of in-between place, between chapters of their life.

We find ourselves crossing
some new threshold
we had never anticipated.
Like spring secretly at work
within the heart of winter,
below the surface of our lives
huge changes are in fermentation.
We never suspect a thing.
Then when the grip
of some long-enduring
winter mentality begins
to loosen, we find ourselves
vulnerable to a flourish
of possibility
and we are suddenly
negotiating the challenge
of a threshold.

A Vision of Our Future
Chances are you are reading this
after we have collectively crossed the threshold
presented by the energetics of the Solar Eclipse.
Potentials are available now that weren't a day or a week ago.
We are at a new beginning. Be at the beginning. Whatever has become before is now past. Even if we carry things forward – our relationships, work, home – they need to be reimagined within a new dream.
Allow the Changes, surprises, dreams, visions and desires awakened in the days and weeks surrounding this eclipse to be guiding stars for how we navigate the rapid shifts, opportunities and new information that will flood human culture and our awareness throughout the rest of this year and into 2027.
Aquarius is the sign of the future, the collective, visions and of innovation. With the Aquarius New Moon that accompanies the solar eclipse, we seek the big picture and the vision to see what is coming down the road.
We can glimpse of our distant future. Pluto, in the first degrees of Aquarius, is at the first stages of ushering in the new era. The eclipse gives us a far-reaching view about where we are going, where we want to go and where Pluto will take us over the next 20 years.
As a North Node eclipse, we feel the impulse for growth, to move beyond what we already know and reach for something that will expand our horizons and experience of ourself.
There may be waves of impactful change catalyzed by this eclipse that will continue to be growing themes over the next months and culminated in July and August when the north node moves into Aquarius and activates this same eclipse degree point.
Let us each take time to sense, name and validate:
Where we feel a new level of excitement around how life is changing
How we are looking to live in a different way
New awarenesses or insights we are having about what we want to do
How we are perceiving things in a new light, or
How areas that have been dormant within us are suddenly waking up.
The pace of life will begin to pick up in the wake of crossing the threshold of the solar eclipse. Changes may happen quickly. We have some time to sit with what is opening for us with Mercury Retrograde February 26 – March 20. But after that, we can expect that we will need to look at how to keep up with the opportunities, innovations, invitations and changes that present themselves for us personally and as a collective.
Changes may happen faster than we imagine. We might have experiences that we might define as being wild or zany. We will be pushed to expand our definitions and understanding of life.

Trust the rhythm of the unseen.
The Great Mystery moves in spirals,
not straight lines. What you seek
may arrive on the wind,
through the roots, or in the eyes
of a passing animal. Be still.
Be grateful. Be open to the medicine
of surprise. The path will shift,
let it. Flow with the turning,
and you will find yourself
exactly where Spirit
meant you to be.”

Qualities that Define the Threshold
Fast Moving, Electrifying, Unpredictable and Chaotic
Co-Ruler Uranus square the Eclipse
Uranus, the Great Disruptor may shock and introduce turbulence. Whatever gets shaken up is intended to free up stagnant energy. There is a surge of electrical stimulation that seeks to break us free of limitations and outworn traditions that inhibit freedom and authenticity.
Uranus is a catalyst that breaks apart patterns that repress and cage the creative life force. We may see big shakeups. In the weeks and months following the eclipse, we may see the rapid crumbling or disappearance of things, seemingly that happen overnight.
Chaotic Disruptions may occur in areas ruled by Aquarius and include accidents or surprising developments in the areas of mass transportation – trains, planes and automobiles, subways and space travel – and areas associated with the collective and where they gather - sports arenas, the Olympics, music concerts, political protests…
Uranus, the Great Awakener, disrupts our automatic way of thinking to open and expand our consciousness. With Uranus prominent at the eclipse, we can expect more revelations, more shocking news or events, that wake the public up to truths. We can also have sudden flashes of insight and spiritual openings. We are being prepared to release what is no longer viable and propelled towards forging new collective agreements and understandings about reality, truth, and the future.
Being Blasted into the Future
Co-Ruler Saturn conjunct Neptune
For the first time in 30 years, Saturn’s new synodic cycle begins just three days before the solar eclipse when it arrived at 0° Aries, the first and most powerful degree of the zodiac. It is called the creation point because it signifies when something that emerges from nothing, like when the first buds of spring emerge from winter. It marks a radical departure from what came before.
Saturn joins Neptune, who recently arrived at 0° Aries, marking a exceptionally rare celestial event that happens to coincide with the timing of the solar eclipse. Their combined energies, at the blast off moment of their new synodic cycles, reinforces the energetic that this is threshold moment for human culture and for each of us in our lives.
New beginnings may be accompanied by confusion, overwhelm and fear until we get our bearings. We do not yet understand or even register this new terrain. Ways we have operated before may suddenly be no longer viable. We are invited to surrender, to operate from a deep trust in ourselves and what is unfolding through us and around us.
Neptune the Dreamer, at the beginning of its new 165-cycle is shaping a new dream, a new ideal that we will dedicate ourselves to realizing. Saturn, the planet of structure and responsibility, will help to define and ground the dream into a concrete plan of action. Currently, there is some caution as we get our bearings, comprehend what has changed, and how we want to move within it.
Many people will make startling and unexpected life changes in the coming months. We may see others making off the wall announcements we never saw coming. Changes or decisions may present themselves in rapid succession.
In six months, the North Node will come to the degree point of the solar eclipse, and we can then see what has unfolded since this time now and how quickly life has changed as we align with, shed old patterns and perceptions, and move authentically towards a new dream that has awakened within us.
It is an Intuitive, Creative Process
Mercury conjunct Venus and the North Node in Pisces
We are invited to free up our schedules and to step away from the busyness of the world so that we can become absorbed with what is stirring deep within. The future is calling us by name. We may have a dream while we sleep or what we find ourselves doodling that reveals what we are to pursue.
Mercury is in its pre-shadow phase as it readies to turn Retrograde, February 26 - March 20, 2026. In Pisces, Mercury cues us that the place of new beginnings will not be defined by rational thinking, but through attunement to our feelings and intuition, within our prayers and meditations, within our explorations through nature and through soul. Something is emerging from deep within. We have only to quiet ourselves to connect with it and let it guide us to the action steps we will confidently take when the Retrograde passes.
