It's my life,
and it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life...

The Full Moon on August 9, 2025, at 17° Aquarius
helps us clarify our personal vision. Be on the lookout for sudden insights, synchronicities and new collaborations that support us in making changes that move our life forward.
Amid a changing world, we see we are also changing. Ways we have been living have run their course and we are ready to take initiative to choose what will come next. It is not a time to quiet ourselves, compromise or keep the peace by going along with what others want. It is not about keeping everything going as it always has, but about actively opening to fresh perspectives, chance encounters, and new approaches that inspire us to embrace change to fulfill the longing of the deep self.

Full Moons occur at the peak of each lunar cycle. The days leading up to the Full Moon bring increased momentum, activity and often mounting pressure. At the Full Moon, emotions and tides run high. Something comes to a head and is experienced as crisis, clarity or breakthrough which can lead to resolution. During the two weeks following a Full Moon, we are completing the month's journey and distilling the wisdom of the recent lunar cycle, so we are ready for the invitation that is presented with the next New Moon.
The house where 15 – 19° Aquarius resides in our natal chart cues us to the area of life where we are shaping a vision for our future and are to be open to new information and connections that help usher in the change we seek.

Choose your love. Love your choice.

Becoming Fully Expressed and of Service
Leo/Aquarius Polarity
While contemplating the Aquarian Full Moon, the lyrics to a Jon Bon Jovi song kept repeating in my head, “…I just wanna live while I'm alive. It's my life!”
The Full Moon illuminates what was once in the dark, shining light on the pathway forward. This can produce sudden insights or synchronous events that align us with our true self and what we seek in the next phase of our life. We seek change as we let go of parts of our life that no longer hold promise. We may feel frustrated or at a breaking point as we look for release and the way forward (Mercury Retrograde, Mars oppose Saturn/Neptune and Full Moon Semisquare to Neptune and Saturn). We are to trust that there is a divine or synchronous timing; where we stay in the center of the river of life, ready to embrace opportunity but not try to push or shape the river itself.
The Leo Sun begs us to nurture, prioritize and express the divine spark within us. We are to first identify the talent or vision we desire to fulfill. The changes we make are to begin with a deep connection to our heart, our passion and to what personally inspires us.
The opposition between the Aquarian Moon and Leo Sun encourages us to define how we want to contribute to society - through an authentic expression of our talents and within the desire for what we wish to create. There is a brazenness to the Aquarian spirit that has us willing to go against the grain to be true to ourselves and our dreams as we define how we want to engage and respond to the groups and trends around us.
The Dialogue Between Head and Heart
Air and Fire
There are three oppositions between fire and air signs:
Sun in Leo oppose the Moon in Aquarius,
Mercury in Leo oppose Pluto in Aquarius,
Saturn and Neptune in Aries oppose Mars in Libra
There is a lively dialogue happening between the elements of air and fire.
Fire: Creativity, Passion, Spontaneity, Trusting our Instincts / Subjective and Personal
Air: Intellectual, Facts, Shared Understanding, Social Connections / Objective and Socially Minded
We look to integrate our heart’s desire with logic, facts and the need for social connectivity to help nurture and give it legs. There is a tension between the inspiration for what we want to accomplish and the need to obtain the information, resources and connections to realize it. We are to speak what we want and find those that can hear and support it. It is time to take the reins for how we want to engage with and contribute to the world around.
Fire and Air are elements that are fast moving, spontaneous, and expressive. There is a dynamic energy to this Full Moon that speeds up our thinking processes, our conversations, and our desire for action. A fire is being lit under us to get on with it.

A wonderful realization
will be the day you realize
that you are unique in all the world.
The world is an incredible
unfulfilled tapestry, and only you
can fulfill that tiny space that is yours.
Leo Buscaglia
Seek Out and Welcome Change
Full Moon Ruler: Uranus
In an Air Grand Trine with Mars and Pluto
In a Small Grand Trine with Saturn, Uranus and Pluto until 2028
Uranus is The Great Awakener introducing the element of surprise and the unexpected. New concepts, people, circumstances can burst into our life suddenly. Welcome or unwelcome, they add excitement and aliveness. Disruption is needed to dispel stagnancy and introduce some new element into our awareness.
As Ruler of the Full Moon, Uranus emphasizes the urge to be true to ourselves before all else. We may need to disturb the equilibrium or risk displeasing someone else, but things will sort themselves out if we honor what we cherish most about life, what we love and what we feel called to pursue.
The Air Grand Trine between Mars, Uranus and Pluto occurs at the first degrees of air signs, indicating that we are being exposed to new thought processes and revolutionary ideas. New synapses are forming in our brains.
Seeking Movement and Balance
Mars
Mars has interjected itself into the 3-year long small grand trine between the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto). Mars is fueling the dialogue between the outer planets that is generating transformative and sweeping changes that will carry us into new ways of living over the next couple years.
Mars in Libra has us considering other’s needs and wishes, taking in other perspectives and weighing what is fair. Yes, we want to create life on our terms (Aquarius Full Moon), but Mars slows us down to ponder how we can work best with others and assert ourselves in ways that can be harmonious and considerate. Mars counters the Uranian impulse to simply make a big splash and instead desires to minimize the fallout and repercussions of bold actions we may be taking.
Mars oppose Saturn and Neptune introduces struggle and potential conflict. It can seem that if we choose ourselves and what will make us happy, we may get pushback from others. We want to determine how we will dance with the transformative changes and rapid technological growth that human culture is at the precipice of experiencing, and to do this we may need bold and honest conversations for us to resolve inner and outer conflict (Mars trine planets of awakening and transformation: Uranus and Pluto). Not wanting to compromise and yet wanting everyone happy with us can leave us bottled up until we can relax our need for other's approval.
Remembering to Nurture and Connect
Venus conjunct Jupiter
During this time of shaping a vision for the future and taking steps to enact change to move in a new direction, the planet of pleasure meets the planet of growth and expansion in the sign of Cancer (in effect through August 14). Our sensitivities and senses are heightened; we seek pleasures that is soft, caring and intimate. We may look to spend more time at home, perhaps cooking a meal in the kitchen or sitting on the porch with a friend watching the sunset. Pursuing avenues available to connect with ourselves and others can nurture, renew and strengthen us for the larger tasks at hand.

Life is a matter of choices,
and every choice you make
makes you.
John C. Maxwell
Great Support to Resolve the Challenges
Two Kite Patterns
Kite Patterns take their shape from a Small and Large Grand Trine with an opposition running down the spine of the kite. It is a potent pattern that speaks of gifts and support that help resolve the tension posed by the opposition at the center of the kite.
Two Kite Configurations are created from the Air Grand Trine at the Full Moon. Saturn and Neptune form the Apex of one Kite Pattern, and Mercury is the apex of the other. The apex planets are in Fire signs, further emphasizing the energies of fire and air.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries at the Apex of one Kite. Where the early degrees of Aries fall in our natal chart will give us clues as to where we are ready for significant change and something new. We are to identify and choose what we want and to trust our heart. It is important that we don’t give into the pressure to try and please those around us. It is vital that we find ways to stand up and fight for what will be personally rewarding.
Mercury at the Apex of the other Kite. Mercury is Retrograde in Leo until August 12. In Leo, we are contemplating how we can better speak from our heart and not to edit ourselves or be inhibited in our expression.
Mercury has slowed down and will be between 4 and 6 degrees of Leo from August 4 – 17. Knowing where 4 -6 degrees Leo is in our natal chart can help us understand where we are looking to be more expressed, and where we may be in the process of making a big decision. During August, our thoughts are amplified and with them our fears (Mercury oppose Pluto). But we can penetrate to the heart of the matter to discover a deeper, perhaps more whole, perspective that incorporates new understandings.
While strong astrological dynamics encourage us to move our life forward, Mars in Libra and the Mercury Retrograde let us know that it is important to stay with the process and not jump the gun. New understandings and developments are still emerging. We may feel bottled up because there is not yet a clear course of action. Making decisions from a place of urgency or pressure is not advisable. It is good to talk things out, stay curious and open, and be ready to meet change head on when the opportunity presents itself.
There are rare alignments happening between planets which herald the seismic changes and paradigm shifts coming our way. We are to listen to what personally inspires us as the rudder for navigating the shifting realities within culture. We can find our way through by listening to what inspires us, be willing to be authentic and true to ourselves in conversation and finding the confidence to try something new and different.
Because in the end, when it is all said and done, our life does not belong to a country or a job, not to another person or to something we signed on a dotted line. We are subject to these things but don't need to be defined by them. We have agency to meet and respond to circumstance and to stand in what matters most.
Our life is ours...just as Bon Jovi sang: It's my life,
and it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life.
